The Opportunity

Are you an experienced Demand Planner with deep expertise in service supply chain and spares planning? If so, you will thrive in our dynamic Service Supply Chain organization at Nutanix, where you will manage global service inventory, spare parts availability, and the creation and consumption of spare parts demand forecasts while partnering directly with our Contract Manufacturer (CM) on operational execution to meet strict customer SLAs. In this role, you will collaborate with key cross-functional teams and external service partners to optimize supply chain processes, mitigate inventory liabilities, and elevate operational execution across our global network.

About the Team

Join our high-performing Service Supply Chain Operations team at Nutanix! Our team is responsible for managing global service inventory and execution across an outsourced network, working directly with three core partners enabling our operation: Manufacturing & Repair Loop, Inventory & Logistics), and Spares Planning SW. Our culture is built on operational excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement as we support Nutanix’s configure-to-order (CTO) and service fulfillment models.

You will report to the Manager, Service Supply Chain. The work setup for this role is an on-prem model, requiring 3 days per week onsite at our local office and/or as required by business needs.

 

Your Role

  • Manage Spares Demand & Replenishment: Develop constrained and unconstrained demand plans for service spare parts across a global network of 204 depot locations. Create demand signals aligned with booking, shipping, and installed base requirements.
  • Oversee RMA & Repair Loop: Forecast and plan across the return, RMA, and repair loop to ensure rapid material availability and closed-loop inventory optimization.
  • Apply Spares Compatibility & Lifecycle Logic: Utilize forward and backward compatibility planning logic to support spare parts lifecycles, end-of-life (EOL) transitions, and new product introduction (NPI) serviceability requirements.
  • System & Parameter Administration: Serve as a SME using Baxter (Prophet) and/or specialized spares MRP/ERP systems. Manage system data, parameters, lead times, safety stocks, and reorder points to maintain parameter health.
  • Govern Partner Ecosystem: Actively collaborate with outsourced partners—Manufacturing, Inventory/Logistics), and planning software—to ensure alignment, execution, and SLA performance across the network.
  • Optimize Inventory & SLAs: Balance inventory levels and availability targets while controlling costs and mitigating excess and obsolete (E&O) liabilities.
  • Drive Analytics & Scenario Planning: Generate scenario plans to mitigate risk and conduct 'what-if' analyses. Identify patterns, trends, and key factors affecting service demand.
  • Lead Continuous Improvement: Perform root cause and corrective action (RCCA) reviews for inventory variances and drive issue avoidance.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Operations, Engineering, Finance, and Sales to reconcile variances, manage run-rate inputs, and align goals.

 

What You Will Bring

  • 10+ years of materials and demand planning experience, with a focus on service supply chain, spares planning, or reverse logistics.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Operations, Logistics, or equivalent experience.
  • Hands-on proficiency with Baxter (Prophet) or specialized spares MRP/ERP forecasting systems. Knowledge of Kinaxis, NetSuite, or Coupa plus.
  • Deep domain expertise in global depot network planning (204 locations), RMA/repair loop management, forward/backward compatibility rules, and outsourced 3PL/CM operations.
  • Background in an electro-mechanical manufacturing or tech environment with configure-to-order (CTO) exposure.
  • Relevant professional certifications (CPF, ACPF, or CPIM/APICS) preferred.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and data analytics skills with excellent verbal and written communication.

 

Work Arrangement

On-Prem: This position requires an on-site presence at the local office 3 days per week and/or as required based on operational and business needs.

 

The pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between USD $ 153,000 and USD $ 229,000 per year.

However, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a sign-on bonus, restricted stock units, and discretionary awards in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as vacation, sick time, and parental leave), dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
